HIM are Finland's most successful rock band to date and judging by the volume of screaming as frontman Ville took to the stage these guys have really made their mark in the UK.

After only a couple of songs the stage was littered with bunches of red roses and items of underwear for the Gothic Scandinavian heart-throb!

One well catapulted extremely large bra hung itself nicely on the end of Mige's bass - after securing it on by the shoulder strap round the neck he carried on rocking with the bra wildly flailing about.

HIM are great musicians who clearly love playing live. Their songs have hard rockin' metal guitars, speeding, crashing drums and thundering bass lines with 80's A-ha style keyboards.

The vocals are a complete contrast with bittersweet tales of love and death sung seductively by Ville who has a superb deep voice that can go from a spine tingling Barry White rumble to a full Chris Cornell scream.

Their songs are well-loved anthems for their devoted 'Love Metallers' who sing along word perfect to every one with arms either raised in devil salutes for the metal numbers or swaying with lighters for the slower ballads.

Their set included songs from their Love Metal and Razorblade Romance albums with a couple of covers thrown in including Solitary Man - a reworked speedy glam rock cover of Neil Diamond's original.

And a metalled up version of Chris Isaac's Wicked Game with its romantic lyrics: "I never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you..." it was almost too much for the (still screaming) girls at the front.

As they neared the end of their set it was clear that guitarist Linde was being plagued by technical problems so the band left the stage while their technicians sorted things out.

Once back on, Ville was still not at all happy about things so he announced that they'd have to just play two more songs. They finished with Soul On Fire before applogising for the technical problems and wishing us all a very early Merry Christmas!
