A
unique and original version of the traditional pantomime tale Aladdin
has been chosen as this year's Christmas panto at Southampton's Mayflower
Theatre.

Jim
Davidson will be combining the Far East and the East End when he stars
with Lucy Benjamin, currently to be seen as Lisa in Eastenders, in
the pantomime.
In this year's high-tech, yet traditional, production he takes the
title role with Lucy as the Princess.
The cast also includes Masashi Fujimoto of the TV series Banzai as
the Emperor of China, John Lyons (A Touch of Frost) as Abanazar, Roger
Kitter ('Allo 'Allo) as Widow Twankey and the indeflatable Mr Blobby.
The company will also contain dancers, acrobats and a large chorus.
The music will be specially arranged versions of songs by ELO (The
Electric Light Orchestra) played through the most advanced sound system
ever used in pantomime.
