- Here is our lives in a gumnut! John is an Aussie who spent 20 years in the Royal
Australian Navy, with 4 years in the UK with the submarine service, living in
Gosport and Alverstoke. On completion of service he moved from Australia to the
IOW in 1977. Lived at Freshwater Bay for 3 years, started a new life with Valerie
in New Milton in 1881, both of us eventually moving to Sweden in 1987, and then
back to Adelaide, South Australia in 1991.
We have four children between
us, two girls and two boys. The two girls are now living in Adelaide, while the
two boys with their families remain in the south of England. We have 8 ½ grandchildren.
We live in a retirement village by the sea, and are fortunate to have many ex
Brits living with us. We both miss Radio Solent, and are very happy to be part
of the "Global Stringers" band of reporters.
