BBC Norman Beaton Fellowship 2012 Winners

The 2012 Norman Beaton Fellowships have been awarded to:



Sarah came to the event via a workshop with Birmingham Repertory Theatre and Paul via a workshop with Freedom Studios Bradford. Both join the Radio Drama Company on Saturday 21st July 2012, along with this year’s BBC Carleton Hobbs Bursary Award winners Eleanor Crooks, Stephanie Racine, Will Howard and Adam Nagaitis.

This year, the judges awarded three runners-up prizes to NBF finalists. Their names and the theatres through whose workshops they joined NBF 2012 are below:

Harriet Chandler ............. Freedom Studios Bradford
Nathan Sussex ............. Aberystwyth Arts Centre
John Flitcroft ............. Birmingham Repertory Theatre

Each of them will be cast via a freelance engagement in one of Radio Drama's 2012 Summer/Autumn/Winter productions.

This year, nine theatre companies from around the UK joined forces with Radio Drama in workshopping talent new to Radio: Bristol Theatre, Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Freedom Studios Bradford, Citizens Theatre Glasgow, Kabosh Belfast, Graeae Theatre Company, Theatre Royal Stratford East and Tamasha. From the many actors who took part, 12 finalists were auditioned on 29th March at Bush House London by this year's judges who were David Hunter (Drama Executive and Chair), Peter Kavanagh (Drama Producer), Sandra Boyce (agent), Adjoa Andoh (actor) and Rebecca Wilmshurst (Drama Production Executive).
