REVEREND STEVE PAYNTER
Stephen Paynter is the Vicar of St Mary's - once the Parish Church of Ealing - where tonight's music was recorded. Steve talks about how the Church was rebuilt in Victorian times when Ealing grew from a small village into a town. The famous Victorian Architect Samuel Teulon designed many churches up and down the country and St Mary's is one of the finest examples of his work. The Church looks like an Eastern Basilica and Teulon was influenced by Eastern Architecture. Steve talks about how all Teulon's wonderful decoration was covered over in the 1950s and how by the 80s and 90s the church looked drab and dilapidated and was in need of total refurbishment. The Church carried out an extensive restoration in 2003 - uncovering all Teulon's work and bringing the Church back to its former glory.

FADI BARRAK
Fadi Barak is a Dentist who came over to this country over 20 years ago from the Lebanon. He, along with someone else in his church, had the vision to start a free English Language School for Immigrants, in Ealing. The school is run by Volunteers from St Paul's - many of whom have a qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Students range in ability from those who speak very little English to those who can speak the language but need to improve their skills to get jobs. The school also helps students with CVs and Job Application Forms. Fadi talks about the School as well as what motivated him to set it up. In particular that he wanted to show the Immigrant community that Christianity was about God's love. He talks about how he became a Christian when studying the human body when training to be a Dentist, his realisation that we are more than just chemicals and that there is a Creator God. He discusses how he began to read the Bible and discovered that the message of love and forgiveness in the Bible was the key to peace on earth. He talks about his frustration with the Church - how he felt they wanted to 'convert' people above anything else and how he didn't feel that was the best way of showing God's love. How he's now realised that instead of not being involved in Church you have to work things through and he is now able to be a part of his church family serving the Local Community through the Language School at St Paul's.

MARTIN DURHAM
Martin is a street preacher who goes out on the streets of Ealing on a Friday night to preach and talk to people. He also travels around this country and abroad preaching outdoors and training up young evangelists. Martin talks about why he feels that street preaching isn't a thing of the past. How people are interested to listen and talk about spiritual things. He also talks about how he first started doing this kind of work when a Street Preacher from America took him to Leicester Square and, much to his embarrassment, asked him to get up and preach. From then on he knew this was something he had to do. He brings in how he and his wife lost two babies very soon after they were born and that this traumatic experience in his life changed him forever - drawing him closer to God. It was after this that he felt God's Call to leave his job and to become a street preacher full time - with no salary but relying on other Christians to support him in his work. He has recently set up his own Charity Kerygma 180.
