| DOT SAMPSON
Dot worked as a maid for the Robartes family at Lanhydrock House near Bodmin in the 1950's. Dot takes Diane on a tour of the house and describes what life was like - the trips to London and the kindness of the family. The House is now owned by the National Trust. BENJAMIN LARHAM Ben is 14 yrs old and has been composing music since he was 8. He composes on his computer and has been accepted by the Music of Life Foundation and the South West Music School. He sings with the Cornwall Youth Choir. CHRISTOPHER GRAY Christopher is Conductor, Cornwall Youth Choir and Assistant Director of Music at Truro Cathedral [newly appointed as Director of Music]. Christopher conducts a rehearsal of 'The Kyrie', which was composed specially for the choir by Ben Larham. He also talks about the composition of the Kyrie and about Ben's talent as a musician. LIEUTENANT ANDY WESTWOOD Helicopter Pilot, Royal Navy Search and Rescue 771 Naval Air Squadron, Culdrose, Andy flies a Sea King Helicopter and is involved in a variety of work from rescuing fishermen, tourists and ships in distress to supporting ships. His previous assignment included working in Iraq transporting troops. Andy talks about how his faith as a Christian helps him - both when he was in Iraq and when rescuing people today. PENNY PHILLIPS Penny works with The Mission to Seafarers who are located inside the docks at Falmouth. The mission care for the spiritual and practical welfare of seafarers providing drinks, books, clothing, telephone cards and conversation to seafarers on ships docked at Falmouth. They are linked to the RNAS at Culdrose and help seafarers airlifted by the Royal Navy. |
