CHRISTIAN SOLIDARITY WORLDWIDE
Christian Solidarity Worldwide is a human rights charity which specialises in religious freedom and advocates on behalf of those persecuted for their Christian beliefs and promotes religious liberty for all. CSW work in countries all over the world including China, North Korea, Burma, Indonesia, Nigeria, India, Vietnam, Colombia, Cuba, Eritrea and Egypt. As part of their mandate to encourage Christians in the UK to 'pray, protest and provide' for the persecuted Church, they offer a booklet, Connect and Encourage, as a means of forging links between Christians in the UK and those who are suffering for their faith.

The publication is issued three times a year, at Easter, during summer, and at Christmas. It is one of their most popular resources and particularly for persecuted Christians; they find it to be an enormous source of encouragement and solidarity. It even affords some prisoners a degree of safety as it is acknowledged that their cases are known on an international level if they are receiving cards. Many of the people featured in the booklet are in prison on wrongful charges, while others are human rights defenders or pastors who are at risk. There are also several non-Christians to whom they encourage people to write.
