Voices: Turning words into action
Hamilton, Steve Haigh and Baatu African couple set up home in Bridgwater

Baatu and Hamilton moved to Somerset only four months ago. But already they have found jobs - she's a nurse in a residential home and he's a caretaker at a local school.
Hamilton and Baatu talk to BBC Voices producer Steve Haigh

The couple left behind family and friends in Durban, South Africa to come to Bridgwater, but say they have no regrets.

Baatu saw a job advertised in South Africa for a nurse to work in Bridgwater and decided it was time she and her husband saw more of the world.

They have brought two of their four children to live in Bridgwater, and the family intend to stay in the town for many years.

Baatu and Hamilton went into the Bridgwater Speak Out to tell their story live on air on BBC Somerset Sound as part of BBC Voices.

Jo, Sarah and some children at the toddler group

Jo and Sarah run a toddler group each Tuesday at Bridgwater Arts Centre.

The session is used to teach children about dance and music.

Jo contacted BBC Voices to ask if we could find some musical instruments for the children to play.

Anyone wanting to donate an instrument to the group should contact Steve on his mobile:
