Children
at Chilton Trinity Technology College will have their work cut out
cultivating the land.
The
plot was provided courtesy of Sedgemoor District Council, but only
weeds have grown on it for the past year or so.
The
children now have the task of smartening it up, and turning it into
a workable plot.
Somerset
Community Food Network will monitor progress and offer advice.

One
of the apple trees is put into position |
It's
hoped that veg grown at the plot will be used for school dinners.
We've
made a start planting an apple orchard in the school grounds.
The
orchard is behind the tennis courts and will be maintained by the
children.
The
apple tree planting season isn't until the autumn, but two trees
in pots have been sunk into the ground to mark the launch of the
scheme.
