Master
mind-reading illusionist Derren Brown brings his psychological powers
to Yeovil and Weston.
Derren
Brown's shows are the talk of the nation.
They
have established him as a hit with viewers and critics alike, as
he mixes menace and mischief, psychology and suggestion to convince
cashiers at race tracks that a losing ticket on the rank outsider
is a winner.

Brown
Mind-reading illusionist |
He
can hypnotise an entire shopping centre by slipping in commands
between announcing bargains over the tannoy.
His
live show is now undertaking a nationwide tour.
Derren
said: "It'll be like the TV show. There is nothing on that that
I can't or won't do live.
"I'll
certainly be manipulating the entire audience, and there's a much
darker second half.
"What
I love about doing it live is that you can't entirely control the
situation, every night the audience is different and you don't have
that detachment you get from watching TV. It's
much more... intense."
Despite
his seemingly miraculous mind-reading powers, the former Bristol
University Law and German student claims no psychic abilities.
He
combines confidence and intuition to startling effect and it enables
him to subtly guide human behaviour. His skill is a mix-and-match
of close up magic, hypnotism, suggestion and psychology, so well
studied and honed that he can have you believing whatever he wants.
The
result is a powerful, provocative and thrilling new form of entertainment.
The
Bristol-based psychological illusionalist's big break came in 1999
when he was asked by Channel 4 to put a TV show together.
The
result, Derren Brown: Mind Control, was first broadcast in December
2000 and recorded one of the highest viewing figures in the history
of the station.
