Beach party returns to Weston
One of the biggest pop shows is set to return to Weston-super-Mare for its fourth year in a row.
One of the country's biggest beach parties is returning to Weston-super-Mare this summer.
T4 On The Beach will be back on Weston's beach lawns for the fourth year in a row.
In 2007, the event saw a host of pop acts including The Kaiser Chiefs, Mika and Girls Aloud perform to a crowd of over 40,000 screaming fans.
Neil McCallum, commissioning editor T4 said: "We are delighted to be bringing T4 On The Beach back to Weston-super-Mare in 2008.
"This year promises to be bigger and better than ever and we will be making some exciting line-up announcements over the next couple of months.”
The event is great for the local economy as it brought in around £3m in 2005 and it is worth over £2m in free TV advertising.
Deputy leader and executive member responsible for Tourism, councillor Elfan Ap Rees said: “T4 On The Beach 2007 was superb publicity for Weston-super-Mare and I am pleased to hear that the event will be returning to the beach at Weston this year.
"We look forward to meeting the organisers to begin planning the event."
No further details, including the date or the performers, have been decided at this time. Further announcements will be made during 2008.
