BBC Somerset visited the Sunrise Summer Solstice Celebration last year: As well as a sustainable-living area, the festival with an environmental theme will also feature performances from the likes of Dreadzone and Frome's Ozric Tentacles.

Syd and Becky Walters own the farm that is playing host to the Sunrise Celebration. Before the festival pitched up at Bearley Farm, Syd had already experienced a much larger celebration up the road. "I've worked at Glastonbury for many years," he told BBC Somerset's Steve Haigh. "The festival has given a new use to the farm, but it's also a way that we can stay farming. "You either diversify [into other ways of using the land] or get out." The organisers have vowed there will be no repeat of the first event in 2006, when hundreds of revellers got into the event without buying tickets. Extra patrols are being laid on, and festival-goers will have to show identification at the gate. Festival director Sunbird took Steve Haigh on a tour of the site: Sunrise Celebration is being held at Bearley Farm (off the A303 near Tintinhull) between 31 May and 4 June 2007 |
