Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza 2007

Get ready to put some new shoes, and records, on this August when Paolo Nutini, Corinne Bailey Ray, Van Morrison and Ray Davies play at Michael Eavis' second big music event of the year.

Subject to licence, old masters will meet rising stars on Friday, 10 August, 2007 as the legendary Van the Man and Brit Award nominee Corinne Bailey Rae perform in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

It's classical night on Saturday, 11 August, 2007 which means conductor Charles Hazlewood (he lives in Somerset you know, and presents his Radio 2 show from his farm here) will be back with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

It's the RPO's 60th birthday this year, so they'll be performing an anniversary Tchaikovsky programme, complete with firework display and water fountains. Oo-er!

Which brings us onto the third and final night of the Extravaganza when Ray Davies from The Kinks and singer-songwriter Paulo Nutini take to the stage on Sunday, 12 August, 2007.

"Paolo is marvellous - he's going to be a really big name eventually," Michael Eavis told BBC Somerset Sound's Jo Phillips.

"I got him nice and early before he gets too expensive! The Sunday evening is going to be absolutely fantastic."
