I love a painting called Brigit which is by inspired and accomplished Goddess artist and sculptor Foosiya Miller, who lives in Dorset.

It connects Goddess Brigit with the landscape, with the hills and valleys that are Her body. I love the strength and the red earth of Her body, Her strong arms and legs and large grounded feet. She is both natural woman and Goddess. I love the way the waters of lakes and rivers and streams flow from Her womb, including The Red and The White Springs of Avalon. Brigit is a fire Goddess and I love the fires that flow between Her hands. I love the moon around Her neck. I love the power and the beauty of who She is expressed in this painting. I used this painting for the cover of one of my Goddess books - The Ancient British Goddess: Goddess Myths, Legends, Sacred Sites and Present Revelation. When I see this work of art, my heart opens to Goddess and I feel the love of the feminine divine. The Goddess in Glastonbury

Another painting I love is of the Goddess in Glastonbury, by the late Monica Sjoo. Monica was a prolific and original Goddess artist and writer for many years. Her style is unique, combining landscape with images of ancient Goddesses. Her work inspires me to always look deeper into landscape, and beyond forms and images to the truth that lies beyond. The Lady of Avalon I'm also inspired by a painting of the Lady of Avalon by Willow Roe, a Glastonbury artist.

It encompasses the nature of Nolava, Lady of Avalon. The Lady with the violet skin and emanation of the rainbow halo is the Goddess in Glastonbury. She stands between Glastonbury Tor and Chalice Hill with Her misty hair and all Her creatures. As a Priestess of Avalon, She is my inspiring Goddess. |
