John Caswell was selected by Wayne Hemingway from more than 300 product-design submissions to NOISE - a virtual, online arts festival for people aged 25 or under.

The 23-year-old's ceramic singing-effect speakers, entitled The Wailers, caught Wayne's eye.

John has had a two-week placement at Hemingway Design, Wayne's London-based company, as part of the NOISE's Dream Job initiative.

As well as on the festival website, his Bale Backers chairs can be seen at a series of NOISE exhibitions around Britain.

"The festival has really surprised me," John says.

"Usually when you submit work to any creative organisation, nothing much comes of it.

"But NOISE has given me the opportunity to showcase my work at two really promising exhibitions and has given me the chance to gain some much-needed work experience in a top design studio."
