Jo Phillips

Somerset Village of the Year 2006

Westbury-sub-Mendip has won the coveted title of Somerset Village of the Year 2006. BBC Somerset Sound's Jo Phillips helped to judge the competition.

Katy Cowler from the Community Council was also on the judging panel. Katy spoke to Elise Rayner on BBC Somerset Sound on Monday 3 July about why Westbury-sub-Mendip was the winning village.

"What impressed the judges about Westbury-sub-Mendip was its astonishing ability to bring everyone in the community together," she said.

"The passion and enthusiasm for all was amazing."
