Somerset Sounds - Artists

Fetimo

Fetimo

Fetimo from Weston-super-Mare plays experimental electronica, or interstellar techno trippy surrealism! Find out more and listen to one of his tracks.

Who are Fetimo?

Timofe Stone and the computer

Where in Somerset are you from?

Weston-super-Mare

When did you form?

2001

How did you get together?

When my cat Nirvana died in 2001, I was spurred to devote an album to her on my first music program, which happened to be Techno eJay 4 - it took four years to complete!

How would you describe your music?

I like to call it experimental electronica or "interstellar techno trippy surrealism". Peter Nelson has called it a journey through sound.

How did the band gets its name?

Timofetimofetmofetimofetimofetimo - basically an MSN conversation with my best friend Laurence!

Who are your musical influences?

A Lily, Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, The Polyphonic Spree, although I don't sound like any of them!

What is your most memorable gig so far?

Well The Lemon Jelly one was amazing, as was The Go! Team, although I didn't play at either.

Where would you most like to play?

I can't really play live yet, but I'm working on it. If anywhere, it would be some really remote place like in a woodland resort.

Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself

I was played on the OneMusic show on Radio 1 back in November 2005 by Rob da Bank.
