CarlRosa

Meet CarlRosa, a three-piece blues-rock band from Ilminster and Crewkerne. They'll play anywhere, from a bedroom to a festival, as they love playing live!

Who are CarlRosa?

Seb Truman on guitar and vocals, Lewis George on bass and vocals, and Tom Tew on percussion and drums.

Where in Somerset are you from?

CarlRosa

Ilminster and Crewkerne

When did you form?

In 2003

How did you get together?

We got to know each other by jamming at our local youth club in 2003, playing I Believe in a Thing Called Love on repeat.

We then got serious when we decided to play Black Night at our school's annual rock concert (March 2004).

How would you describe your music?

We're a three-piece blues-rock band, with grunge and punk influences.

How did the band gets its name?

CarlRosa

CarlRosa is old cockney rhyming slang. It has an interesting history and we liked the sound of it.

Who are your musical influences?

Our influences are many.

Some include: Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Deep Purple, The Vines, Led Zeppelin, The Pixies, Metallica, The White Stripes, QOTSA, Stone Temple Pilots, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, The Hives, Foo Fighters, The Darkness, Blackbud, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Buddy Rich Orchestra, Green Day, Cream, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Joss Stone.

What is your most memorable gig so far?

The acoustic set we played to open a concert, which raised funds for the victims of the Tsunami. We did an acoustic version of Black Night.

Where would you most like to play?

CarlRosa

Anywhere - from a bedroom to a festival. We love playing live!

Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself

Last year, Tom sat in the orchestra pit, overseeing the drummer in Mary Poppins - yes, you may mock, but it was pretty cool!

Seb, apparently, likes anything tasty or edible - if you don't trust this source, it's on his MSN member directory profile! He's just back from New York, where he ate sushi.

Lewis loves playing his bass and finds it difficult to think of much else other than music. Recently when his playing was interrupted, he swallowed his plectrum!
