Chris Ellis

Me!

Chris Ellis from Taunton is Somerset's Blast reporter for 2005. Find out about his life and his freekishly weird finger-feet!

Name: Chris (full name Christopher... but I hate it!) Ellis. I also have other weird names given to me by my mates, but most call me Chris.

Age: 19 - nooo! Almost the end of my teenage years!

Born (and lived for 19 years!): Taunton

Weirdest body part

Foot holding a pen
My freakish foot

My feet - they are extremely bony and I can pick up most items by gripping the object between my long toes!

It's really useful if you drop a pen and haven't got the energy to bend down and pick it up!

Interests

I couldn't live without music and I have an interest in most types, including:

  • Indie - Athlete and Kaiser Chiefs
  • Rock - Green Day and Foo Fighters and old skool classics - MC Hammer and Bon Jovi. Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio is also amazing.

Socialising with my mates and girlfriend is a huge part of my life.

I also like doing random things - such as barefoot walking and Chanball (weird name but basically foul football in a lounge) - as well as taking part in more normal activities such as running, playing tennis and, of course, going out.

Chicken
Mmmm... chicken

Films are good, especially comedy and horror, and if combined then you can't go wrong.

Any other activity that doesn't involve too much effort is good, such as eating, especially garlic bread and anything including meat, mmmm... chicken.

I've also got an interest in nature and wildlife and am hoping eventually to become a wildlife journalist.

Things I dislike

GHERKINS! They ruin a good burger and all the sauce is always attached to them when you pick them out.

Apple skin is also a prob because it always gets stuck in your teeth.

TV isn't as good as it used to be. Where have the classics like the Big Breakfast, Distraction and Live and Kicking gone?

One of my best moments

Kaiser Chiefs
Kaiser Chiefs at T4 on the Beach

It has to be when I went to the T4 beach party and got to go behind the scenes for BBC Somerset.

I interviewed Rachel Stevens ;-), Athlete, Lemar and Goldie Lookin' Chain, and saw Feeder, Kaiser Chiefs and Athlete play live.

We also saw June Brown aka DOT COTTON!

What I'll be doing

I will be covering local events which will hopefully include music, the arts and nature.

I am also keen on including the more unusual events within the county and am hoping to feature something paranormal.

Please get in touch using the form below, if you have any ideas or pics for me, or you know about forthcoming events I should be reporting on.
