Somerset Sounds - Artists

Red Light Go
Red Light Go's initials spell SMART

Red Light Go

Meet Red Light Go from Bath. They're SMART! Their sound is an eccentric, electric, eclectic mix of soaring synths, chunky guitar melodies, driving rhythms and sneering vocals. They rock! They roll!

Who are Red Light Go?

Stevie Nelhams on bass; Mark Truman on keyboards; Andy Madison on vocals; Rob Wright on guitar; and Tom Hammond on drums.

Where in Somerset are you from?

Bath

When did you form?

In 2004

How did you get together?

Red Light Go
Tom and Andy

Destiny threw us together

How would you describe your music?

A unique brand of anarchic pop/punk for the masses: our sound is an eccentric, electric, eclectic mix of soaring synths, chunky guitar melodies, driving rhythms and sneering vocals.

How did the band gets its name?

Desperation - it's got a bit of danger and a nice ring to it.

Who are your musical influences?

The Cure to Duran, Bowie to the Stones, Iggy to the Pistols, Numan to Depeche, Presley to Kylie.

What is your most memorable gig so far?

The details escape me at the moment

Where would you most like to play?

The new Wembley stadium please

Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself

Our first-name initials make up SMART in an ABBA kind of way. We rehearse at the same studio that Robert Plant does and he wants to be in the band! We rock! We roll!
