Who are Group 4?

Richard from Group 4

Keith Allen on lead vocals, guitar, percussion, and Richard Parsons on backing vocals, guitar, keyboards and programming.

When did you form?

In 2002.

Where in Somerset are you from?

Othery, on the Levels.

How would you describe your music?

Combining bluesy acoustic guitar, sequenced beats and ethnic percussion, Group 4's music treads a path somewhere between upbeat resolve and retrospective melancholy.

How did the band get its name?

Group 4

Keith won the knife fight, that's how!

Who are your musical influences?

Richard's Dad's vinyl collection, Keith's junk shop purchases, Turin Brakes, Bowie, Zero 7, Damien Rice, Elvis Costello, Faithless, Kosheen, Goldie Lookin' Chain, Denison Witmer.

What is your most memorable gig so far?

Playing to the catering operatives and a sheep called Phil, at the Sun and Moon Festival in Cannington, whilst on the side of a fire engine.

Where would you most like to play?

South by South West Festival in Austin, Texas.

Finally, tell us some interesting facts about yourself.

Keith looks more scary than he actually is. Richard is more scary than he actually looks.

They're good. So good that I'm featuring them at an acoustic showcase called 5 Unsigned, in Bath at the Green Park Tavern this Sunday 3/10! I'm really looking forward to hearing them again.
