Local events company, A Galaxy of Stars has organised the convention in celebration of the return of Doctor Who to our TV screens this year, and as a pre-launch party for the latest Star Wars film, which is being released in the summer. Some of the stars of Doctor Who and Star Wars will be there, including the Doctor himself, Colin Baker, and David Prowse who played Darth Vader. As well as being in with a chance of meeting the stars, there are opportunities to have your photo taken with them, take part in a question and answer session, and view some of the props that were used in the Doctor Who series and Star Wars films. "Gosh that takes me back... or is it forward? That's the trouble with time travel, you never can tell." The new series of Doctor Who is due to come to a TV screen in your home from 26 March 2005, with Shallow Grave actor, Christopher Eccleston in the title role.
