Mark Orme and his family

Glastonbury family's help in Sri Lankan tsunami relief effort

Ever since the Asian tsunami struck on Boxing Day, people in Somerset have been doing what they can to help the people who have lost their loved ones, their homes and their livelihoods.

A family from Baltonsborough, near Glastonbury, are working with relations and friends who live in Sri Lanka on a project to help rebuild a village that has been damaged by the disaster.

Mark Orme has already sent a box of medical equipment to a hospital in the Sri Lankan village of Pottuvil. Now he and his family are acting to help a community to rebuild their village.

The BBC's Andrew Enever went to meet the Orme family at their home in Baltonsborough. You can listen to his reports by clicking on the links on the right of the page.
