Bill Oddie, Kate Humble and Simon King return to the Springwatch farm in Devon to bring you the best animal action from around the country.

Monday 28 May, BBC Two

Springwatch 2006

In spring 2006 Bill and Kate once again joined the wildlife living on an organic farm in Devon to see how the weather had affected nesting birds and other wild inhabitants.

More than 50 secret mini cameras and miles of fibre-optic cable allowed viewers to keep an eye on animals battling to raise their young.

The Springwatch team were able to follow blue tits, swallows, pied flycatchers, goldfinches, buzzards, jackdaws and badgers as well as kingfishers from the nearby river.

Meanwhile Simon was on the Shetland Islands following the stories of some of the UK's most special animals, from otters and seals to Arctic skuas and oystercatchers.

The team also talked about Breathing Places – areas where people and wildlife find refuge and flourish. Make a difference for wildlife in your neighbourhood.

Autumnwatch 2006

Bill Oddie, Simon King and Kate Humble brought a new autumn event to our screens in 2006. Simon was based in a remote glen on the Isle of Rum watching the dramatic red deer rut, one of the season's most spectacular events. Meanwhile Kate and Bill were based at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust reserve at Martin Mere in Lancashire, where they could watch the spectacular bird migrations at the mere and on the nearby coast.
