Who wrote the music and can I get it on CD?
The music for the series was specially composed by The Insects (Bob Locke and Tim Norfolk). It will not be released as a CD.
Is there a book of the series?
There is: Monsters We Met: The Battle for Planet Earth edited by Ted Oakes and published by BBC Books. Various members of the production team - Ted Oakes, Amanda Kear and Annie Bates - wrote chapters for the book.
How long did the series take to make?
The series was started in May 2001 and finished in March 2003. Filming started in February 2002 with a trip to Calgary in Canada. The final filming trip was to New Zealand in October-November 2002.

The BBC Natural History Unit production team consisted of eight people, and ten people from the BBC MediaArc produced all the graphics for the programme

Were any of the animals in the series computer generated?
Eight computer animated creatures were seen in the series: Megalania, Genyornis, Diprotodon, sabre-tooth cat, short-faced bear, mammoth, giant ground sloth and moa.
Animatronics of Megalania (the giant ripper lizard), the sabre-tooth cat and the short-faced bear were used. Models of a dead Diprotodon and a dead mammoth were also built.
