Listening for specific information - cinema worksheets transcript

Film information loop to be used with worksheets 1 and 2.

Possible instructions to students:
Listen to the booking information carefully. You can make notes if you want or you can try to remember the key details if you're feeling confident. When you've listened to the recorded message look at the questions. Choose the answer that you think is correct. Remember that this is a recording so you can listen to the information again if you are not sure about any of the answers.

"Hello. Thank you for calling Picture Universe Cinema. This is the cinema information and booking line for Fab Film Week.

If you have a touch tone phone please press 0 at any time to reach the booking line. Alternatively, say 'Yes, please' during the pause between the film choices to talk to one of our booking staff. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Switch. There is a booking fee of £1.25 per booking.

The following are the film choices for this week:
'The Wizard of Oz', certificate U, 101minutes. Dorothy Gale is swept away to the land of Oz with her dog Toto. Filmed in 1939, this is an adaptation of a novel by L. Frank Baum staring Judy Garland. Showing at 3.30 and 4.30.

'The Silence of the Lambs', certificate 18, 118minutes. Ted Tally's screenplay reveals Clarice Starling racing to save a missing woman. But can she save herself from Hannibal Lecter? Need we say more? Showing at 7.00, 8.30 and 10.30.

'Star Wars', certificate U, 121 minutes. Directed by George Lucas. In a galaxy far, far away Luke Skywalker plans to save the universe from dark forces. Showing Saturday morning at 10.00am only.

'Schindler's List', certificate 15, 197 minutes. A Spielberg epic staring Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes. Based on the real story of Oscar Schindler. Showing at 5.30, 7.30 and 9.30."
