A two hour lesson to practice writing and understanding large whole numbers.

Addition and subtraction

To recognize number and gain confidence using number. Order number, use addition, and possibly use subtraction.

Recognise number

To increase confidence using numbers. Use mental maths, addition, using counting on, or number lines, or fingers.

Reading receipts
Numeracy curriculum MSS2/E1.1, MSS2/E2.2, N1/E1.7, N1/E2.7
To increase confidence when dealing with money. To recognise relevant numbers on a sales receipt, use subtraction. Use counting on, calculate on paper, mental maths, number lines. To record work on paper. Some will use a calculator.
