Reading, instructions, vowel sounds, homophones
Session:  Week No:

Objectives: At the end of the session the students will be able to:
1. Increase their knowledge of vowel sounds 'aw' and 'or' through completing an online game. Ww/E2.2
2. Give simple spoken instructions; giving directions from a map. SLr/E2.1, SLc/E2.1
3. Follow the main events of chronological texts; reading a text and answering questions to test comprehension. Rt/E2.1
4. Start to recognise some common homophones; completing an online game, quiz and worksheet. Ww/E2.1

Reading comprehension exercise. Warm up exercise. T. read out story. Then Ss. take it in turn to read out a sentence. Ss. answer questions. T. lead group checking answers.

Revision of instructions. Instructions - map reading. T. hand out local map. Ss. have to describe how to get from Lloyds bank to train station. T. to write on board. Ss. to write as numbered list.

Vowel sounds - 'aw' and 'or' revision
 
Revision on words containing 'aw' and 'or' vowel sounds. Introduce to students who didn't cover it in the previous week. T. give examples of words with sound (Ss. have homework in front of them).
