Division
(Numeracy curriculum - MSS1/L1.1, HD1/L1.2)
Shares and business are all about division. The conventional simple example is a lemonade stand. After taking into account the setup and running costs, the profits have to be divided among the share-holders and the workers.

The BBC Watchdog website has a guide to writing letters of complaint. You can use these to help learners further develop their letter writing skills and use of appropriate language. The downloadable examples include how to cancel an order and how to complain about an unsatisfactory holiday. They provide fantastic examples of what not to write and how to construct letters of complaint.
