Debbie has worked for East Berkshire College of Further Education for the last eleven years as a Basic Skills tutor and specialist tutor for dyslexic learners. She devised her own accredited course to train tutors to work specifically with dyslexic students in secondary and tertiary education as well as training volunteers to work with Basic Skills students, both within the college and for Berkshire Probation Service. Her work also included 1:1 support of dyslexic students on a variety of courses and dyslexia assessments for examination concessions.

Over the last two years she has run two literacy classes exclusively for adult dyslexic learners and has now left the college to set up an Adult Dyslexia Centre, offering information and guidance and a range of short courses.
