Fractions and percentages are different ways of writing the same thing.
There are a number of common ones that are useful to learn.
Here is a table showing you the ones that you should learn.

When solving problems involving fractions and percentages it sometimes makes the question easier if it is written in another way.
Example:
Rachel is given a 10% staff discount on a CD player costing £200. How much discount would Rachel get?
Looking at the table you will see that 10% is the same as
. To find a tenth you simply divide by 10.
£200 ÷ 10 = £20.
