The OfficeManager David Brent (Ricky Gervais) is the boss from hell. Tactless, talentless, egotistical, cowardly and conniving, he nonetheless genuinely believes he is loved and respected by his staff. These include Territorial Army nut Gareth (Mackenzie Crook), and Tim (Martin Freeman), the office joker, who visibly hates his job.

Del is forever putting one over on his 'bruv' but deep down loves him dearly, and wants what is best for his family.

Only When I LaughA hospital comedy centred on patients Roy Figgis (James Bolam), Archie Glover (Peter Bowles), Norman Binns (Christopher Strouli) and surgeon Gordon Thorpe (Richard Wilson). Most episodes were set on the ward and involved young nurses and odd visitors.

Open All HoursRonnie Barker played mean, stuttering, yet loveable shopkeeper Arkwright. David Jason played his nephew and shop assistant Granville, who was always fall guy to Arkwright's money-making schemes. Love interest Nurse Gladys Emmanuel (Sheila Brennan) was always just out of Arkwright's reach.
