Sri Lanka defence ministry has accused the Tamil Tigers of carrying out the attack near Vavuniya bus stand

A civilian was killed and nine others sustained injuries in a suicide bomb attack in the northern Sri Lankan town of Vavuniya, authorities said.

The defence ministry has accused the Tamil Tigers of the attack.

 According to the available information, the suicide cadre came on a bicycle has exploded the bomb near the main bus stand in Vavuniya town

“According to the available information, the suicide cadre came on a bicycle has exploded the bomb near the main bus stand in Vavuniya town,” a statement in defence ministry website stated.

Seven security service personnel and two civilians are among the injured, it added.

The injured were admitted to Anuradhapura hospital.
