Display of bodies 'condemned'

Bodies of LTTE cardres
The Bishop of Anuradhapura has condemned the way the bodies of LTTE carders were displayed to the public.

The naked bodies of men and women, were put in a truck and shown to onlookers, Bishop Norbert Andradi said quoting local residents.

Bishop Andradi said that this was not something which was acceptable especially in a city like Anuradhapura sacred to Buddhists.

"The people in the area who talk about this with contempt do not approve such a move", the Bishop said.

The Bishop said that his views do not represent the vision of the LTTE.

"Whoever commit human right violations have to be condemned, but everyone should respect human values and acceptable norms", the Bishop of Anuradhapura, Nobert Andradi added.
