President Chandrika Kumaratunge
The former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunge has gone to courts requesting her lost privileges be restored.

In her petition to the Supreme Court, former President Kumaratunge has pointed out that she got a letter from the secretary to the President that her privileges had been stripped on a decision by the Supreme Court

Former President Kumaratunge says that the budget for office facilities and additional staff and vehicles has been withdrawn.

She has pointed out that while cutting down on her privileges, 117 security personnel from the ministerial division have been allocated to Basil Rajapaksa who is just a member of parliament.

Seventy two of Basil Rajapaksa's security staff are officers and in addition 40 commandos have also been attached.

She also has highlighted that even bullet proof vehicles were made available to MP Basil Rajapaska.

President Kumaratunge requests the Supreme Court to order the Secretary to the President to restore her privileges and said that it is illegal to provide more facilities and privileges to Ministers such as Keheliya Rambukwella, Mahinda Samarsinghe while she remains a target of the LTTE.
