The Tamil Tiger delegation in Oslo says that talks with the Sri Lankan government delegation were never on the agenda.

“We arrived in Oslo to talk with the Norwegians regarding the safety of the truce monitors and we had no plans to hold talks with the government delegation” said LTTE police Chief G. Nadesan speaking from Oslo.

When questioned by BBC Sandesaya whether the LTTE was not aware of the arrival of the government delegation Nadesan said that they had seen media reports of the arrival of the government delegation but there were no plans for talks with them.

Nadesen maintained that the Norwegian facilitators never informed them of talks with the government of Sri lanka.

“We have to first consult our Eastern leadership prior to engaging in any talks with the government” said Nadesan.
