UK helpline activated
 
The Sri lanka High Commission in London has established a helpline to assist Sri Lankans who need to ascertain the safety of any family members in London.

The help line telephone numbers are 00 44 2072621841 and 00 44 2072620875.

London-After the blast

The High commissioner in London Kshenuka Seneaviratne speaking to Sandeshaya said that she is in close contact with the British Foreign Office and said it would take a few more days to get a complete list of victims.

The British Foreign office has taken steps to inform foreign missions of any instances where foreign nationals have been among the victims of yesterdays blast in London. Kshenuka Senaviratne told Sandeshaya that so far there has been no information on Sri Lankans among the victims.

Meanwhile, in a message sent to Prime Minister Tony Blair expressing her concern for the victims and strongly condemning the attacks, President Chandrika Kumaratunga said that democratic values and the way of life of the civilized world cannot be undermined by terrorism.
