Four killed in Sri Lanka
 
Four people were killed on Sunday in Colombo and the north east.

Two bodies of Tamil youths were found in Kochchikadai in Colombo.

Officer In charge (OIC) of Kotahena police BLB Appuhamy told BBC Sandeshaya that one body has been identified as Francis Renisius from Gurunagar. The other body is believed to be Devadas Emmanuel Suresh’s, but cannot be confirmed until further investigations, he said.

Military spokesman Brigadier Daya Ratnayake told the BBC that the police may also look into the possibility whether the two youths were LTTE informants.

'Unidetified' killing

OIC Appuhamy said the police continue investigations under instructions of Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) – Colombo North.

Meanwhile, Jaffna police said that the body of a man shot dead on Sunday morning near Moothavinyagar Kovil in Manipai is yet to be identified.

The diseased known as “Ashokan” to the people in the area was suspected to be an informant of Sri Lanka Army and a former member of the Ealam Peoples Democratic Party (EPDP), police said.

According to Jaffna police, he may have been killed by the Tamil Tigers.

Batticaloa

But LTTE’s political office in Jaffna refused the accusation.

The media unit of the EPDP also denied the police statement that Ashokan was a member of the EPDP.

In Batticaloa, the body found by the police in Rideetenna has been identified as Sundaralingam Suresh from Kaluthavalai, 21, by his parents.

Acting OIC,Valachchanai police, SU Minipura said that investigations has revealed Suresh was a member of the Karuna faction.

The police said the LTTE might have killed him.
