GoSing!

Ballad of Bethnal Green
Celebrating and supporting amateur choral singers

GoSing! is now in its second successful year, and in 2008 will be based in Ealing, Hounslow and Westminster schools, as well as continuing to support City of London firms in their workplace choir and local school development through participation in a unique concert at the Barbican on 9th June.

GoSing! is run by the BBC Singers and vocal specialists including Jo McNally. In its first year, GoSing! worked in 28 schools and numerous workplaces across London, including Primary and Secondary schools and City Firms via the 'Singers in the City' series of concerts conducted by BBC Singers Principal Guest Conductor Bob Chilcott.

Key to the success of GoSing! is the fact that teachers are at the heart of the scheme, and are supported by visiting mentors to develop personal key skills and techniques. This means their school choirs will continue long after the BBC Singers cease to work with them, thus ensuring legacy and a continued network of school choirs.

In 2008, the BBC Singers are proud to be the 'Sing Up' Singing Ambassador for our partner Borough of Westminster.

In June 2008, GoSing! culminates with a week long residency at the Radio Theatre in Broadcasting House where all of our schools will be presenting concerts hosted by CBBC presenters.
