BBC Singers: Basses

Michael Bundy
Michael Bundy
Stephen Charlesworth
Stephen Charlesworth, known as Larry, joined the BBC Singers after freelancing with groups such as The Monteverdi Choir and The Taverner Consort. He was a member of close harmony group The Light Blues along with two other Singers. He also sings with medieval music group Gothic Voices and The Tallis Scholars. He lives on the Ashdown Forest with his wife, soprano Lucinda Houghton, and four children.
Charles Gibbs
Until this summer, Charles Gibbs spent his career as a session singer with a variety of outfits – mostly in the field of Early Music. He was a Vicar Choral for seven years at St Paul’s Cathedral and combined this for a year with appearing in Les Miserables in the West End. He has enjoyed some solo work and taught a plethora of not always talented adolescents the arcane mysteries of singing. From being a free-thinking libertine (professionally speaking), he has now been ‘banged to rights’ by the Singers – and is as happy as a pig in the proverbial! He drugged and dragged his family up to Berkhamsted from Somerset with the lure of a more exciting life (they are still waiting) and as yet, nobody has realised their mistake in appointing him to the job.
Jamie W. Hall began singing when a rather frank appraisal of his keyboard skills lead him to conclude that his career as a concert pianist was going nowhere. Since then he has studied voice, reading music at Liverpool and then moving on to become a lay clerk with the cathedral choirs of Chester and more recently, Winchester.

He is delighted to be the newest (and youngest!) member of the bass section and combines his work with the Singers with an embryonic career as a concert soloist.

Jamie still lives in Winchester with his wife, Grace and baby son Samuel. He spends most of his free time on the train.
Adrian Peacock
Adrian Peacock joined the Singers after 15 years of freelancing. His career has varied from conducting Renaissance music in European cathedrals to singing contemporary music standing alone atop a Mexican pyramid! He also works occasionally as a record producer, having most recently recorded the Kings Singers latest Christmas cd. Spare time is devoted to putting off the restoration of a 1957 Austin Healey speedboat.
Edward Price
Edward Price joined the Singers in 2001 and immediately showed his dedication to the group by taking his work home with him and then marrying his colleague, Siân Menna. His ways of relaxing include running up muddy hills, playing military golf and being absurdly proud of his beautiful daughter.
Andrew Rupp
Having arrived at Maida Vale Studios to collect someone in his minicab, Andrew Rupp was pleasantly amazed to find himself offered a job with the Singers. As the mistake has yet to be discovered, he's making the most of it while he can.

He is sharing the job with Michael Bundy. The job share allows him to continue in his career as an opera singer.

Andrew lives with his family in Lewes. His hobbies include endlessly buying gadgets, rock music and being an armchair rugby expert.
