Sing Hallelujah is a nationwide project which encourages people to find their voice and discover the joy of singing through Handel's famous "Hallelujah Chorus". Sing Hallelujah is a project from the BBC, led by BBC Radio 3, and English National Opera (ENO)
Radio 3 will be marking the Sing Hallelujah project with a range of programmes, including 'The Choir' on Sunday evenings, and the innovative English National Opera production of Handel's Messiah to be broadcast on Radio 3 on 25th December taken from a live recording from the London Coliseum.
To help you to learn the Hallelujah chorus you can download the orchestral backing, each individual part on its own and a mix with your part missing to sing along to.
2009 marks the 250th anniversary year of Handel's death and everyone from beginners to established choirs is invited to learn the Hallelujah Chorus, with the help of the BBC and ENO, and encouraged to perform the work during November and December.
If you are a confident singer or in a choir already, we'd like you to perform the Hallelujah Chorus in November or December 2009, whether informally or as part of a bigger concert. Send us details of your performance and we'll list it online so that audiences can find you. Find out more about how you can get involved.
