Severn are vulnerable to the river's ever changing moods.

Ludlow has also been hit by floods when the River Teme bursts its
banks after periods of heavy rain.
According
to the Environment Agency, the Government body responsible for flood
defence, the best way to cope with flooding is to be prepared.

The
Environment Agency provides advance warning on river states either
on its website or via a recorded message on Floodline. Calls are
charged at national rates.

In
the event of a flood warning BBC Radio Shropshire on 95/96FM will
broadcast updates. When the floods hit Shrewsbury in 2000, Radio
Shropshire switched to 24 hour coverage of the events.
