This live stage performance showcased the cultural heritage of India through a series of colourful classical dances, melodious music and folk stories.

The dancers and musicians enacted the enchanting tales from the ancient epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata involving maharjas (kings) and maharanis (queens).

Rhythms of the classical dances, Bharatanatyam and Kathak were performed by dancers in colourful costumes and jewellery.

Dance numbers were performed by Shantha Rao, Sandip Mallick, Meera Patel and Rashmee Attarwala of the Annupurna Indian Dance Company from Yorkshire.

The musicians for the evening were Debasish Mukerjee on tabla and Baluji Shrivatsav on sitar, dilruba and vocals.
