Whittington Castle: View One
Whittington Castle, near Oswestry, is one of Shropshire's most romantic ruins - yet its most prominent part only dates back 200 years. This view shows the gatehouse, reconstructed c1810, and the old castle, constructed in 1221 onwards.

Whittington is classed as an endangered building, and it is looked after by a local preservation trust. Find out more about Whittington Castle.
