Shrewsbury
Castle - View from the castle lawn
Shrewsbury
Castle was all but a ruin in the late 18th Century when Thomas Telford
was hired to turn it into a grand country house for the local MP.
Today
the gardens are open to the public, and the inside of the building
is used by the Shropshire Regimental Museum.
This view shows the main castle building and the
gardens leading up to Laura's Tower on the highest part of the site.
