Shrewsbury
Castle - View from castle entrance
This
view shows the impressive entrance to Shrewsbury Castle, which today
forms an attractive garden. Next to the castle gates can be seen
two World War II-vintage artillery pieces, which act as a memorial
to the Shropshire Yeomanry, which was part of the Royal Artillery
in the 1940s.
Also
in the picture is Shrewsbury Library - formerly the Shrewsbury School
Building - and a statue of former Shrewsbury schoolboy Charles Darwin,
and the top of Castle Street. The tower of Shrewsbury Abbey can
also be seen through the trees to the left of the black and white
building.
