Set in the lively village of modern day Punjab, this romantic film focuses on a joint family which spans four generations.

This is a family united by values, tradition and warmth and living under one roof.

It is headed by Sardar Hardam Singh (Dara Singh).

Sardar's grandson, Kanwal (Harbhajan Mann) is the apple of his eye.

Kanwal spends most of his time with the village musical troupe. It is not long before Kanwal sets eyes on Ladi (Neeru Bajwa) and falls deeply in love.

The only person who knows about this union is Kanwal's close relative, Faujan (Amar Noorie) who takes upon himself to convince their respective parents about this love match.

But when both families meet for the first time, Ladi's relatives are discouraged by Kanwal's lack of ambition. This forces Kanwal to seek his own identity, taking him to the UK.

In London, he meets Lisa (Mahek Chahal), a London youth icon. Lisa is drawn towards Kanwal's charm and simplicity and notices a spark in him. And so begins an exciting journey to stardom.

Meanwhile, unknown to Kanwal, Lisa begins to fall in love with this Punjabi man.

Does Kanwal choose Lisa and lead a life of fame and fortune in London? Or does he return to his sweetheart, Ladi and his roots in Punjab?

The answers to these questions are revealed in this emotional film already destined to become one of the biggest box office successes this year in the UK cinemas.

Filmed in the scenic locales of Kullu Manali, Chandigarh, Punjab and various locations like Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, Windsor Castle, Battersea Park, Margate Beach, Caversham Bridge in London, Dil Apna Punjabi is produced by Kumar S. Taurani & Ramesh S. Taurani, written and directed by Manmohan Singh

The musical score is provided by Sukshinder Shinda which forms the highlight of the film.
