The story of Alag meaning different, begins on a character called Hemant Rastogi, a middle-aged man supposed to be staying all alone in a house.

Suddenly there is news about his death resulting in a police investigation. They soon find that there is something very strange and eerie about the whole situation. Behind the closed doors of the house there is a secret but what can that be?

The investigators' doubts about the house become stronger when neighbours reveal that there was someone else besides Hemant Rastogi living in the house.

Someone, whose identity was not known to anyone but gave the impression of walking alone in the dead of the night. Is it a living being or a ghost?

As the suspense grows stronger, a shocking revelation comes to the fore. There was indeed another occupant in the house.

This person was a young boy who had been hidden in the house for 18 years and didn't have any knowledge about the outside world. This boy was none other than Hemant's own son - Tejas (Akshay Kapoor).

Why would anyone keep their own son confined in dark isolation? What was his fault? What would be his life be from now onwards?

Tejas is admitted to an institute run by Purva (Dia Mirza). The institution looks after orphans and those who have just stepped into the world of crime but show hopes of returning back to normal life.

Purva soon finds how Tejas is different from any other men. He looks 'different', acts 'different'.

Being a well read person who had finished countless books whilst in isolation, Tejas does have a theoretical knowledge of the outside world. But it was going to be a difficult journey ahead when it came to living life practically!

While Tejas learnt everything around him, he also realises that the world as seen in books was quite different from what he was seeing through his own eyes.

Meanwhile Purva too, starts to observe some unknown traits about Tejas. He is not just different when it came to his physical self. There were many other factors about him that amazed her.

She soon finds that Tejas has special powers never witnessed by anyone before.

Who is Tejas? What are his powers? From where has he come? Is he someone from the outside world ? Or is he God's gift to mankind?

A soul stirring and emotional film, Alag is directed by Ashu Trikha who had earlier directed films like 'Deewanapan' and 'Sheesha'. The film is said to release in June.
