| This
comedy flick opens on Samir (Salman Khan) as he is arrives in Goa
to start a new life. He is on a rebound from a broken relationship.
Wanting to start afresh, he decides to take up a job as a lifeguard.
As
he settles into his new environment, he comes across Rani (Priyanka
Chopra) with whom he falls in love. But his happiness is short lived.
Why?
Because the guy he shares the flat with also gets attracted to Rani.
His name is Sunny (Akshay Khanna).
And
so begins a competition between the two lovers as they try to win
Rani's heart.
No
matter what Samir tries to do to impress Rani, it always goes horribly
wrong. And this acts as a plus point for Sunny. He appears to be
conniving and slimy in character.
Thrown
into this pot pouri of comedic moments are Rani's strict father
(Amrish Puri) and his wife who seems to sport an eye-catching hairstyle.
Then
there is a pair of twins (both roles played by Rajpal Yadav). These
include a friendly astrologer whose predictions prove wrong all
the time and a leader of The Eagles gang (reminiscent from the Shah
Rukh Khan starrer, Josh).
And
most enlightening of all, is the climax involving a cricket match.
The presence of cricketers will surprise the audience especially
Navjot Singh and Kapil Dev. They will bring the house down.
So
who wins the girl in the end? Why spoil the fun? Watch Mujhse
Shaadi Karoge to find out.
Director David Dhawan comes up trumps once again with this laugh
riot. The film not only entertains but keeps you engrossed throughout
with many light moments.
Like
all his movies, Mujhse Shaad Karoge is stylishly shot. His
cinematographer has captured the beauty of Mauritius and Goa successfully.
On
the technical front, do watch out for the Matrix Reloaded
special effects which have been employed in this movie. A first
as this particular effect was not seen in the film Mein Hoon
Naa.
The
musical score from Sajid-Wajid blends well with the story. Laal
Dupatta and the title track are the pick of the lot.
Choreography
by Farah Khan (of the Mein Hoon Na fame) adds further appeal
to the songs.
Salman
Khan's performance is equally good as Akshay Khanna's. Whilst Salman
portrays his vulnerable character with ease, Akshay's character
is convincingly nasty and roguish.
As
for Priyanka Chopra, she keeps up with the two gentlemen all the
way. She looks great and plays her part well.
Mujhse
Shaadi Karoge can be described as escapist cinema at its best.
If it's pure Bollywood entertainment you are looking for, then this
is the film for you.
No
doubt it will do tremendous business at the UK box office in the
coming weeks as it's the summer holidays - kids and adults alike
will be entertained to the full. A must see!
