| Army
life forms the backdrop for this thriller which revolves around Aditya
Srivastav (Bobby Deol).
Aditya
was once an army officer who fell in love with Payal (Lara Dutta),
daughter of a senior officer.
But
due to some arguments with senior officials, he was asked to leave
the army. Adding insult to injury, girlfriend Payal decides to dump
him too.
Not
one to brood over the past, Aditya moves on in life. He opens a
travel agency.
His
family consists of a younger brother, Anuj (Ritesh Deshmukh) who
is coming to terms with his disturbing past.
But
soon a simple misunderstanding sees Anuj storming out of the house
in anger.
When
he fails to return the following day, Aditya organises a search
party. What he discovers shocks him - his brother is found dead.
Unable
to tolerate his brother's death, Aditya begins to investigate.
This leads to a new twist in the storyline.
He
even ends up in court seeking justice on what had happened. He comes
across his past love, Payal, who by now has become a lawyer.
As the case progresses so does their relationship as their love
is once again rekindled.
But
when all fails, Aditya takes the law into his own hands to prove
his brother's innocence.
This
film sees the return of E Nivas who once directed hard hitting films
like Shool, Dum and the comedy flick Love Ke Liye
Kuch Bhi Karega.
Its
worth pointing out here that Vikram Bhatt has written the screenplay
and story.
Strangely
enough, Bobby Deol continues to be paired with the Andaaz
beauty queens - we saw him with Priyanka Chopra in Kismat.
In Bardaasht, he is seen with Lara Dutta.
Himesh
Reshammiya (of the Tere Naam fame) scores the music whilst
Sameer has written the lyrics.
The
film also co- stars Rahul Dev and Tara Sharma.
In
Mumbai, this film will be digitally distributed when it releases.
It will be transmitted from Mumbai and Noida via satellite to approximately
25 cinemas across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh & Punjab.
